Ms. Jasmine Shams received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Masters in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge. She then attended Albany Law School, graduating in 2011, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate.
Ms. Shams advises businesses on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including general practices, termination and disciplinary decisions, wage and hour issues, and compliance with the NLRA, ALRA, Title VII, FEHA, the FMLA, the FLSA, OSHA and other federal, state, and local laws.
Ms. Shams defends management throughout all stages of litigation before federal courts, state courts and administrative agencies against claims of discrimination and retaliation, prevailing wage liability, alter ego/single employer liability, joint employer liability, and in wage and hour class and collective actions. She also represents employers in unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and Agricultural Labor Relations Board.
Ms. Shams assists clients with the development of policies and employee handbooks and separation agreements. She also conducts workplace investigations, wage and hour audits, and employee trainings.
Ms. Jasmine Shams is a member of the State Bar of California and a member of the American Bar Association.
